Critical Transit is a platform for sharing knowledge and advocating for effective, high quality, sustainable transportation networks.  We need to rethink how we move around and how we use our valuable public spaces. We frequently praise bicycling, walking and public transit but continue to subsidize our inefficient and harmful car culture.  We can move forward by understanding how progress is made in different places and shifting the political discourse.

I am a geographer with a background in urban transportation planning and policy, having designed bus and rail networks for large and small transit agencies and toured dozens of cities to study their transit networks. I recently co-founded Transit Matters to advocate for better transit service in Boston.
